Nightstick Announces IS-Certified 900-Lumen Dual-Light™ Rechargeable Lantern

Wylie, Texas – August 2019 - Nightstick, a global manufacturer of innovative, professional portable lighting products raises the bar of performance and flexibility yet again with their newest Class I, Div 1 Intrinsically Safe handheld hazardous environment lantern.

The XPR-5586GX Intrinsically Safe Rechargeable Dual-Light Lantern with Pivoting Head is Nightstick’s most flexible lantern to date. Combining a spotlight that pivots 90 degrees with a downward-facing floodlight, this lantern offers three user-selectable brightness settings of 650, 380 and a 25-lumen “Survival Mode” on both the spotlight and floodlight. Powered by a single rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the lantern’s operational runtimes are 9.5, 15.5 and 150 hours (nearly a week in Survival Mode!) respectively.

The pivoting head allows the user to prop the lantern on its back for easy hands-free use or as a convenient area light. With a 388-meter beam distance, the tightly focused flashlight beam is perfect for lighting up objects at great distances or large areas.

Featuring ergonomic independent switches, the lantern can also be used in Dual-Light mode (900 lumens), allowing the user to simultaneously see objects at a distance and see the ground in front of them as they walk or work.

Constructed of thick-walled glass-filled nylon and weighing only 2 lbs. 13oz., the 5586 is built to deliver reliable, certified lighting in the most demanding hazardous environments. The wide, curved handle is over-molded in rubber to provide a comfortable, positive grip. Two bright red rear-facing LEDs provide passive team member location for increased safety and awareness.
